This instrument replaces their original organ which was a 1966 9 rank Moller "Double Artiste".  Although it was in fairly good playing condition, it did not serve  very well as a liturgical instrument.  The two totally enclosed divisions, placed in the typical chancel arrangement,  were too small and "thin", a problem made worse because the instrument was in front of the choir seating area.  Also, because of the length of the nave, the congregation would lag behind in singing.  The new instrument places the Great and Swell divisions on the front center wall with the choir chairs directly in front of the organ.  The Antiphonal division on the opposite back wall greatly helps to lead the congregation.  The final result is an instrument that not only makes a visually harmonious architectural statment, but also better facilitates traditional Lutheran liturgy.
